Laura Lynn Owens, age 24, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 19, 2007. She was born March 6, 1982 in Salisbury. Laura is survived by her brother, G. Wesley Owens of New Oxford, PA; her father, Johnnie R. Owens and his wife Judy of Salisbury; and her mother and step-father, Susan and Kenny Bruce of Salisbury. She is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Grace A. Ayers of Salisbury and Ronald and Jackie Ayers of Hebron, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Laura attended the Maryland School for the Blind for 15 years, graduating in 2003. She currently resided at the Holly Center in Salisbury and participated in a day work program at Humanim, also in Salisbury. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 30505 Dagsboro Road, Salisbury, MD. Family and friends may visit from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Pastor Robert C. Reinert, Jr. will officiate. Interment will be held at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Arrangements are being handled by Short Funeral Home, Delmar. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Laura L.
