Kerry Landis King, 75, of Delmar, DE passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at TidalHealth-Nanticoke with his children by his side. He was born on August 17, 1946 in Georgetown, Delaware, a son of the late Harold P. King and Blanch R. Taylor King. Kerry was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and a best friend. He was loved and admired by many. He loved his dogs, Bear and Maverick, but most of all his family came first! Kerry went to Seaford High School and graduated from James H. Grove. He worked for Messick and Gray, and retired from Perdue. He owned and operated Shade Tree Auto. At present, what he loved most of all was his racehorses, his passion. He is survived by his loving children, Kerry Lee King (Rhonda), Leslie King, Marsha "Pumpkin" King, grandchildren, James "Jamie" King, Justin King, Jacob King, Kerry King, Jr. (Jen), Amanda Lingo, Kyle King, Taylor King, and Sydney Sherrill; great grandchildren, Lilly, Little Jamie, Hensley, Kerry King, Sawyer King, Finley King, Donald Lingo, Dylan Lingo, and Marley Clark; brothers, Daniel King of Berlin, MD, Alan King (Mary) of Seaford; sisters, Brenda Johnson of Bridgeville, Freda Brobst of Seaford, and Rita Jones (Charlie) of Laurel; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, Kerry was preceded in death by his son, Keith Landis King, brothers, David King and Edwin King; and a sister, Margie Lee King. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff nurses of TidalHealth- Nanticoke for all they did. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Bethel Worship Center, 26648 Sussex Highway, Seaford, DE 19973. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Kerry's memory be sent to the family to help with burial expenses, Leslie King, 10805 Dorothy Road, Laurel, DE 19956.
