DELMAR- Kenneth S. Manning, Jr., 80, of Delmar, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Seasons Hospice Center in Randallstown, Maryland. He was born November 23, 1929 in Union Beach, NJ, a son of the late Kenneth S. Manning, Sr. and Ethel M. Austin Manning. Kenneth proudly served his country for 8 years in the US Navy. He retired in 1989 as a supervisor for NJ Bell in New Jersey after spending his whole career working for the same company. After retirement he owned and operated his own construction firm and specialized in remodeling and building decks. He was very talented with his construction skills and spent countless hours doing carpentry and electrical work for friends, neighbors and pastors. He was a member of Parsonsburg United Methodist Church, Lions Club and various other organizations in the past. As a lover of music, he was involved for many years with the Barbershoppers of Salisbury. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret L. Manning; a son, Kenneth M. Manning and his wife Patricia of Oakton, VA; a daughter, Sally A. Cafasso and her husband Phillip of Woodbridge, NJ; a step daughter, Kathryn Gustafson and her husband Randy of Dunbarton, NH; two step sons, David W. Hastings and his wife Sherri of Laurel, DE and Stephen W. Hastings and his wife Debra of Newport, NC; five grandchildren, Laura Cafasso, Anna Cafasso, Blasé Cafasso, Sarah Manning and Evan Manning; and several great grandchildren and step grandchildren. He will be missed by the beloved family poodle, "Dudley". A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00. The Reverend Henry Zollinhofer will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Parsonsburg United Methodist Church, P.O.
