DELMAR- Kenneth F. Brown, Sr., 73, of Delmar, died Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born December 9, 1942 in Laurel, a son of the late Floyd B. and Meredith Ida (Hearn) Brown. Kenny worked several jobs before spending 33 years at Dresser Wayne Pump in Salisbury, where he held several positions in welding, maintenance and silk-screening. He retired from Dresser Wayne in 2000 but continued to use his talents as an auto body repair man, working with his son at Brown's Paint & Body. He loved working with cars and that led to his passion for racing RC trucks. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and Jeff Gordon fan. His hobbies included go-kart racing and trips to the US 13 Dragway and Delaware International Speedway in Delmar. Kenny's children and grandchildren shared his passion for cars and racing, which made it more enjoyable for him as he loved watching them race. Pop-Pop Brown thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play in the yard at his house either on his RC car track or in his big sand box he made for them. In his younger days, Kenny was a talented woodworker and enjoyed playing golf as well. He is survived by a son, Kenneth F. Brown, Jr (wife, Paula) of Delmar; daughters, Theresa Williams (fiancé, Kenny Smith) of Laurel and Christy Stiles of Cape Charles; grandchildren, Matthew Baker, Danielle Brown, Michelle Brown, Steven Williams (wife, Jill), Stephanie Saylor (husband, William), Aaron Bowers and Nathan Bowers; great grandchildren, James, Lucas, Brayden, Brooklynn, Blake, Piper, Ava and Evan; and brothers, Donald Brown of Delmar and Arnold Brown (wife, Lois) of South Carolina. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Lee (Fassel) Brown, who passed in 1994; a daughter, Sheila Stiles Bowers; and a brother, Howard Brown; and a sister, Betty Littleton. A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where a visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
