Kathryn Elizabeth (Sauder) Stoltzfus, 87, of Snow Hill, Maryland, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in West Lampeter Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late John G. and Elizabeth M. (Wiker) Sauder. Mrs. Stoltzfus was a long time active member of the Snow Hill Mennonite Church and enjoyed being a part of the church sewing circle for many years. She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Her passion in life was taking special care of her son, David. She was known by many for her love for growing banana trees and was proudly featured in local newspapers for her trees. The family expresses great appreciation to the Snow Hill Nursing Home staff who provided loving care to our mother almost seven years. She is survived by beloved daughters, Mary Jane Eby and husband, Merle of Snow Hill and Ruth Ann Bates and husband, William Bates, Sr. of Princess Anne; a son, David Stoltzfus of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Brian Eby and wife Donna, Beth Hess and husband Kent, Elaine Eby, Katrina Pavelko and husband Tom, and Joy Cann Delevieleuse and husband Toby; great-grandchildren, Timothy, Tara, and Taylor Eby, Dillon and Mariah Hess, and Julia Pavelko, and Caleb and Ilana Delevieleuse; sisters, Ruth Dunkleburger and Helen Nolt of Pennsylvania; and brothers, Wilmer Sauder and wife Julia of Florida, Roy Sauder and wife Sandy of Pennsylvania, Ivan Sauder of Pennsylvania, Paul Sauder and wife Vivian of North Carolina, Melvin Sauder of Pennsylvania and Lloyd Sauder and wife Grace of Pennsylvania. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Omar Stoltzfus, Jr., who passed in infancy and Lee Stoltzfus; and two brothers, Robert and John Sauder; and great-granddaughter, Zoe Delevieleuse. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Snow Hill Mennonite Church, where family and friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00. Pastor James Kurtz officiating. Interment will follow in the Snow Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Snow Hill Mennonite Church, 5927 Worcester Highway, Snow Hill, MD 21863.
