Katherine "Kate" A. McCoy, 76, of Delmar, died Friday, May 30, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury after a brief illness. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, daughter of the late Clarence and Elsie McCoy. Kate worked in purchasing for various companies throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Delmar. She was a talented cake decorator, who proudly baked birthday and wedding cakes for her family and friends, enjoyed crocheting and traveling around New England with her family. Most importantly, she was a loving mother and grandmother, who will be missed immensely. She is survived by her daughter, Renee' L. Dayton of Delmar; son, Jeffrey Williams and his wife, Diana of Westford, Vermont; 5 grandchildren, Sarah Danforth (Casey) of Vermont, Jesse Dayton (girlfriend, Samantha) of Georgia, Emily Williams of Vermont, Tracy Dayton of Delmar and Sean Williams of Vermont; her former husband, Frank Williams (Sage) of Vermont; and a niece, Barbara Jean Mason (Tyrone) of Chincoteague, Virginia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Williams, son-in-law, Darren Dayton, her step mother, Edna McCoy; and brother, Robert McCoy. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Delmar, where a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00. Pastor Lee Hughart will officiate. Interment will follow the services at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
