Julia Belle Terlson, 85, of Laurel, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Julia was born on January 1, 1929 in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She was a daughter of the late George and Jessie Hammersla. She worked many years at Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, where she formed lifelong friendships with her co-workers. Her hobbies included making crafts of any kind and watching birds. She is survived by her children, Sharon Jernigan (Jim) of Delmar, Deb Pearrell of Martinsburg, WV, Paul "Skip" Snyder (Gloria) of Salisbury, and Jay Terlson (Michele) of Delmar; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Harold Hammersla and George Hammersla, both of Martinsburg, WV; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Terlson; three children, Janet Marie Snyder, Lynn Marcus Snyder and Tom "Tinker" Terlson, II; and a sister, Belva Tabler. A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
