Joseph Francis Keene, 66, of Mardela Springs, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 2, 1955 in War, West Virginia, a son of the late Samuel Keene and Mary Rose (Honacre) Keene. Joe grew up in a large family, being one of fifteen siblings. At an early age, he met the love of his life, Dee Keene, and they have been married for 48 years. Joe spent many years as a truck driver. He was a past member of the Delmar Fire Department. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, and he loved attending the turkey shoots sponsored by the Delmar and Hebron VFW's. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Dee Keene; son, Frankie Keene and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Sharon Donovan and her husband Dean; grandchildren, Frankie Joseph Keene, Jr., Trinity Donovan, Abigail Keene, Stephanie Donovan, and William Keene; three great-grandchildren, Mason, Hunter, and Christopher Keene; nieces, Tina Sheets and Jamie Bozman; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 6-7:00 pm at Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
