John Thomas Williams, 48, of Delmar passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. John was born on December 8, 1971 in Salisbury, Maryland, a son of Earl "Bunky" Williams and the late Carolyn F. Williams. John spent his career working as a correctional officer for Wicomico County, where he also spent time in the law library helping those within the correctional facility with their legal cases. He loved playing computer games, spending time with his grandchildren, and Saturday game nights with his closest friends. He is survived by his wife of almost 18 years, Carrie A. Williams; a son, Micheal Earnest and daughter-in-law, Paige; grandchildren, Greyson and Logan Earnest; his father, Earl "Bunky" Williams (Pam Wootten); and an aunt, Dottie Byrd. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Williams. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. Due to current gathering restrictions, social distancing and masks will be required. The funeral service will be private. Following the funeral service, everyone is welcome to join the family at the interment at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron and at a celebration of life at Community Christian Church, 6400 Culver Road, Salisbury, immediately following the service at the cemetery.
