Obituary

John Calvin Taylor, III, beloved husband, dad, son and Pop-Pop, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 15, 2023. He was only 52 years old. He was born on May 2, 1971, in Seoul, S. Korea to John "JC" Taylor, Jr. and Patricia Johnson Taylor. Once returning to the U.S., John was baptized at Wicomico Presbyterian Church and has been an active member ever since. John graduated from Bennett High School with the class of '88 before earning his criminal justice degree from Wilmington University. In his early days he worked for the Rehoboth Beach Police Dept. and also as a dispatcher for the Salisbury Police Dept. John loved his current job in sales for Eco-Lab, where he considered co-workers and clients his extended family. His reason for living was his family. John will be lovingly remembered as a compassionate and devoted individual by all who had the privilege of knowing him, especially his family. With a warm smile and a kind heart, he was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. His jovial nature and sense of humor brought joy and laughter to countless lives. He was a proud Pop-Pop who made a point to travel to any football game, baseball game or gymnastics meet he could get to. John's memory will forever be treasured by his wife Anna R. Taylor, to whom he married on August 13, 2001; his parents; his daughter, Brittney Minerva Maloney and husband Jeremy; his daughter-in-law, Andrea L. Minerva; his grandchildren, Mason, Minka and Ben; his sister, Heather Kovall and her husband, David and their son, Henry; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Brian Christopher Minerva. His loss will also be felt deeply by a community of friends, colleagues, and extended family members. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Graveside funeral services to celebrate John's life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 am at Johnson Family Cemetery, 33088 Johnson Rd, Salisbury, MD 21804, followed by a memorial service which begins at 1:00 p.m. at Wicomico Presbyterian Church in Salisbury.
