MILLSBORO- John Lewis McDorman, 66, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was born August 28, 1952 in Salisbury, a son of the late John William McDorman and Carita Lewis. John proudly served his country in the USMC and was a member of the American Legion, Post 28 in Millsboro. He enjoyed a career of over 40 years as a machine operator at the DuPont Company in Seaford and he stayed with the company as it changed names several times. In his younger days, John was stationed in Hawaii where he enjoyed scuba diving and being around the water. He also loved hunting, fishing, boating and was an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by a daughter, Lisa McDorman Schultheis of Delmar; a son, Matthew Lewis McDorman of Delmar; grandchildren, Sierra Schultheis, Ian Schultheis, Quinn McDorman and Sophia McDorman; his significant other, Sally Wingo of Milton; a brother, Kenny Lewis of North Carolina; and sisters, Beatrice Seehafer of Florida and Eunice Gilgo (Betty Rae)of Crisfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
