Obituary

SEAFORD- John J. Kuckinskas, 74, of Seaford, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington after a brief illness. He was born December 24, 1940 in Pittsburgh where he spent his younger days. After graduating from Oliver High School with the class of 1958 he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served his country until 1961. He married his sweetheart, Karen in 1962, with whom he enjoyed 53 years of marriage and raising their family. He became a born again Christian in 1976 and raised his daughters with the guidance of his Christian faith. He was a faithful member of Veracity Church in Delmar. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing and boating. He was well versed in the art of sign language and he truly enjoyed signing to worship music. Through the years he had several careers, including General Manager for 7-Up and Pepsi, owning and operating the Maytag Store in Seaford, and working in billing in his son-in-law's business, Kelly Appliance Service. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen Liptak Kuckinskas; four devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Audrey Serman (Brent) of Delmar, Gale Kelly (Steve), Leasa Penny (Rob) and Christine White (Mark), all of Seaford; 8 grandchildren, Johnathan Flamos, Christina Flamos, Allison Shaver, Steven Kelly, Ashley Penny, Madison Penny, Gabriella White and McKenna White; and two great grandchildren, Ellie and Mark; and his mother-in-law, Angela Antignani. He is also survived by three sisters and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Veracity Church, 36270 Old Stage Road, Delmar, Delaware, officiated by Pastor Mark White, John's son-in-law. Interment was private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. Memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to Veracity Church, 36270 Old Stage Road, Delmar, DE 19940.
