Obituary

DELMAR, MARYLAND-John Franklin Sullivan, known as Frank by everyone, 72, of Delmar, MD, passed away Monday, August 18. He was born February 27, 1962, in Salisbury to the late Raymond and Irma Sullivan. Frank graduated from Delmar High School in 1961. After graduation, he enlisted in the National Guard and later joined the US Army. After serving for six years, Frank returned to Delmar where he met his wife, Beverly, with whom they just celebrated 47 years of marriage. Frank retired from National Linen Service in 1998 and continued to work for Vernon Powell Shoes until 2007. Frank loved watching sports and coached Little League for several years. He enjoyed Sudoku puzzles, playing cards, watching cowboy movies, and volunteering at Harvest Ministries. He was also a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church in Delmar. Frank is survived by four children: Robin Fenick (Bill) of San Diego, CA; Kelly Russell (Thad) of Delmar, MD; Scott Sullivan (Crystal) of Midway Park, NC; Susan Hall (Bobby) of Delmar, MD and eight grandchildren: Robert, Jonathan, Miranda, Brian, Jordan, Dylan, Evan, and Ava. He leaves behind sisters, Jane Sullivan and Linda Pusey (Gerald), brother-in-law, Wayne Moore (Peggy) and his beloved dog, Ragean. He was preceded in death by a brother, Steven Sullivan. A funeral service will be held at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar, DE, on Saturday, August 23rd, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by The Reverend Phyllis Walton. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Frank's memory may be made to The American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058 or St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 101 E. State Street, Delmar, DE 19940. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home of Delmar.
