John Dana "Dane" Lofgren, a beloved husband and devoted father, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the age of 72. Born on October 28, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA, Dane lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community. After graduating from high school, Dane served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He then went to work for Occidental Chemical and in 1976 he received the Wicomico County Humanitarian of the Year Award. Dane pursued his passion for mechanics and worked as a maintenance mechanic for Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack E until his retirement. In 2001, he received the State of Maryland Exceptional Employee Achievement Award. He served as a fireman and EMT for the Delmar Volunteer Fire Department for many years. During his daughter's high school years he coached the Delmar Girls Softball Team. Dane cherished his family above all else. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 52 years Christine Lofgren, with whom he shared countless cherished memories. He is also survived by his daughters, Kimberlie Bell and her husband Joe, and Renee Larimore and her husband, Charlie; grandchildren, Gracie, Mabel and Jack Bell; brother-in-law, David Carroll; niece, Heather Jackson and her husband Sean, and their son Noah. He was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie Joan (Milton) Lofgren and John Godfrey Lofgren; and his sister, Sandra Carroll. No formal services will be planned. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Delmar Fire Department, P.O. Box 143, Delmar, DE 19940 in Dane's memory.
