DELMAR- John Samuel Cannon, 73, of Delmar, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at his home in Delmar. He was born January 8, 1938 in Denton, Maryland, the son of the late Walter Francis Cannon and Hannah Teas Cannon. John retired after 35 years of service as a mechanic for Townsend's in Millsboro. After retirement he enjoyed buying and selling all sort of things. He also loved the outdoors, especially working in his garden. He is survived by a daughter, Kim Bisker of East New Market; a sister, Betty Brown of Dover; a sister-in-law, Margaret Holland of Millsboro; and several caregivers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie B. (Wells) Cannon and several brothers and sisters. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury. The Reverend Howard Travers will officiate.
