John Daniel Bolen, 50, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 5, 1971 in Salisbury, a son of Margaret C. Bolen and the late William Luther Bolen who passed in 2013. John graduated from Delmar High School with the class of 1989. Soon after, he married his high school sweetheart, Tammy. For the last 8 years, he worked as a correctional maintenance officer for ECI in Westover, Maryland. John liked shooting sporting clays, collecting antique guns and working on and collecting model trains. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandson riding the tractor together. He attended Good Samaritan Christian Fellowship in Seaford, where he served as a board member and deacon. He is survived by his mother, Margaret C. Bolen; wife of 28 years, Tammy L. Bolen; daughters, Brittany Bolen and Bethany Harbachuk (Johnathon); grandson, Colt Harbachuk; sister, Mary Morris (Brooks); godmother, Carol Chickelero; uncles, James Bolen (Shirley), John Cocron (Shirley), and Joseph Cocron (Martha); and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. The memorial service will be begin at 2:00 p.m. Out of respect to family and friends attending the service, masks are suggested. Pastor Raymond C. Justice, Jr. will officiate.
