LAUREL- Jessie L. McInvale, "J.L.", 84, of Laurel, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born April 21, 1932 in Georgia, a son of the late James and Cornelia McInvale. Jessie proudly served his country in the US Air Force for over 11 years. He was a talented woodworker who used his skills to be an accomplished carpenter and worked many years for the Gem Carpenter's Union in Portsmouth, Virginia. He always had several wood working projects going on at home, building and repairing. He was a long time member of Liberty Church of Christ in Salisbury. He loved NASCAR and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his wife of over 43 years, Lucy M. McInvale; sons, Harold Strouth and wife, Diane and Billy Strouth and wife, Linda, all of Salisbury; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne and sister, Barbara, both of Georgia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 15, 2016 at 12:15 p.m. at Liberty Church of Christ in Salisbury. Pastor Phillip Lee will officiate.
