Jesse G. Johnson, 72, of Delmar, passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Mr. Johnson was born June 12, 1936, in Dunn, N.C., to the late Edgar Garland Johnson and Bessie (Cantrell) Johnson. He was the district manager for McCrory's on the Eastern Shore. His hobbies included fishing, golfing and gardening. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and he enjoyed coaching his grandson's soccer and baseball teams. He is survived by his loving wife, Martha J. Johnson; two sons, James Johnson and his wife, Brenda, of Delmar and Robert Johnson of Naples, Fla.; three grandchildren, Danielle Johnson, Trevor Johnson and Skyler Johnson; a great-granddaughter, Brooke Johnson; two brothers, Clive Johnson and his wife, Carol ,of South Carolina, Ripon Johnson and his wife, Betty, of Wilmington, N.C.; three sisters, Delores Lee and her husband, Bill of ,Fayetteville, N.C., Ramona Kirk of Charlotte, N.C., and Faye Stockton of Fayetteville, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Glendora Shay. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Short Funeral Home at 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. The Rev.
