Jerry C. Gardner, 67, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Wicomico Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 20, 1953 in Rocky Mount, NC, a son of the late Morris Clifton Gardner and Lillian Smith Gardner. Jerry's career began in industrial supply sales and more recently he worked as a salesman for Clark & Sons, Inc. in Salisbury. He was a member of the East Side Men's Club for many years. In his free time Jerry enjoyed fishing, golf, shooting pool and shuffleboard. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen (German) Gardner; son, Scott A. Gardner and wife Tamara of Peyton, Colorado; daughters, Erin M. Gardner of Salisbury and Lisa M. Dennis of Hebron; grandchildren, Antonio, Aymber, Dylan, Emily, Taylor, Patrick and Jessica; great grandchildren, Liam and Aaliyah; a sister, Frances Hall and husband Harry of Delmar; a niece, Lori Santos of St. Petersburg, Florida; and sisters-in-law, Jane Ann Smith and husband John and Nancy Parrish and husband Bill. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a funeral service which begins at 2:00. The Reverend Dean Perdue will officiate. Interment will be private.
