Jeanne P. Gammon, 88, of Seaford, and formerly of Salisbury, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Methodist Manor House in Seaford, where she had resided for the past 20 years. She was born January 21, 1925 in Norfolk, VA, a daughter of the late Marshall Pebworth and Virginia Downing Miller. She was a graduate of Westhampton College and worked as a medical technologist during the early years of her marriage. She then devoted herself to raising her children. She was a Girl Scout leader, active in the church choir, and taught Sunday school as a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury. In later years she was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Seaford. She is survived by 4 children, Allison Ray Weaver of Great Bridge, VA, Stephen Kent Gammon of Great Bridge, VA, Virginia "Ginny" Gammon and her husband, Victor, of Hebron and Charles Lee Gammon of Salisbury; 2 grandchildren, Michelle and her husband, Charlie and Heather and her husband Ashvin; and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Charles Ray Gammon; and a sister, Elizabeth Miller Morris. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
