Jay L. "Fat Boy" Baker, Sr., 53, of Willards, died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, after a long battle with diabetes and heart disease. He was born in Salisbury, a son of the late Ollie J. and Agnes P. (Wilkins) Baker. He is survived by his wife, Diane Baker, to whom he would have been married to for 24 years on November 1; a son, Jay L. Baker, Jr.; a granddaughter, Haley Grace Baker; and sisters, Bonnie Cordrey and Betsy Tucker. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, many close and dear friends and a pet bird, Rosco. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Ann Hearn. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church in Willards, where family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00. Following the service, a reception for family and friends will be held at the Bethel Church Hall. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home, Delmar.
