Jane Hearthway Hudson, 81, of Salisbury, formerly of Snow Hill, died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. She was born in Snow Hill on May 15, 1933, the proud daughter of the late W. Edward and Amanda Stevens Hearthway. Jane graduated from Snow Hill High School with the class of 1951. She worked briefly for the County Commissioners office of Worcester County before marrying her high school sweetheart, Walt Hudson, in 1953. She was a wonderful homemaker who devoted her life to raising her family and will be remembered for always putting her family first. Her church was also very important to her and she was a faithful member of Olivet Christian Church in Snow Hill. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Walter Benjamin Hudson; a son, James E. Hudson and wife Tina of Richmond; a daughter, Patricia J. Soriano and husband Wayne of Ocean City; and 3 grandchildren, Thomas Hudson, Dylan Hudson and Christopher Soriano. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin W. Hudson, who passed in 1968. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Houston Hill will officiate. Interment will follow in Snow Hill Christian Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Olivet Christian Church, c/o Alice Gordy, 6908 Greenbrier Road, Eden, MD 21822.
