Obituary

James D. Richardson, 65, of Delmar, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Salisbury on November 18, 1956, a son of the late Charles D. Richardson and Patricia Ann (Hancock) Hall. Jimmy's work history started at Chesapeake Farms followed by some time at the Gant Shirt Factory, and most recently working at Motion Industries. He was a faithful but frustrated Baltimore Orioles and Dallas Cowboys fan and stuck with them through the good and bad. He also loved NASCAR and rooted for Chase Elliott for many years. He and his son, Brian shared a love for music and together they enjoyed collecting vinyl records. Spending time with his family was his greatest passion and fishing trips with his family and grandchildren were favorite memories for all. He is survived by his wife, Rose Richardson; son, Brian Richardson and wife, April; daughter, Karen Richardson; a brother, Ricky Richardson and wife, Lisa; sister, Patsy Pitmon and husband, Deane; step-sisters, Vickie Bryant and husband, Dallas and Belinda Tyler and husband, JT; grandchildren, Jacob Brian Richardson, Isabella Joy Richardson and Brody Gray Richardson; 29 nieces and nephews; 29 great nieces and great nephews; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, Patricia Perdue, Kathy Foster (Joseph), Dennis Hurley (Cindy), Mary Lipsett (Robert), Barbara Lowe (Terry), Brenda Henry (Elston), Patrick Hurley (Donna), Michael Hurley (Sherry), Kevin Hurley (Terri), Elizabeth Hurley (Randy), and Steven Hurley (Tracy); step-mother, Madeline Richardson; his three cats Sugar, Jax and Leo; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Allen Richardson; step-father, William Vaughn Hall; and a step-brother, Johnny Seward. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jimmy to the Delmarva Cat Connection, P.O.Box 1323, Ocean Pines, MD 21811.
