James "Jim" Franklin Pusey, II, 78 years old, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many, passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at his home that he loved. He was born November 11, 1939 in Baltimore, a son of the late J. Frank and Belva Banks Pusey. Jim grew up in Delmar, graduated from Delmar High School with the class of 1957 and was a member of the football and baseball teams. His love for football took him to Western Maryland College where he started every game all four years of his college career and earned All-American honors in 1961. In 2000 he was proudly inducted into the Western Maryland College Sports Hall of Fame. He graduated in 1962 with a B.A. in History. Following college he enlisted in the US Coast Guard before returning to the shore to work with his family in the garment industry. After many years working in the industry, he retired and spent over 15 years in management with Candy Kitchen. He was an active member of Rockawalkin United Methodist Church in Hebron since 1987 where he served on various committees and was a long time member of the Board of Directors for the Rockawalkin Community Hall. He was also a past member and past president of the Delmar Lions Club. When Jim wasn't serving his church or volunteering in his community, he could be found working in his yard, which was near and dear to him, or watching the birds and wildlife. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Manetta Willett Pusey, his college sweetheart, who he married on October 19, 1963; daughters, Rebecca Strumsky and her husband Eric of Perry Hall, Maryland, Allison Lynch and her husband Keith of Herndon, Virginia and Leslie Pusey of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandsons, James and Matthew Lynch; brothers, C. Victor Pusey and Steven B. Pusey and his wife Mary, all of Salisbury, David M. Pusey and his wife Vavene of Hawarden, Iowa and John W. Box 1792, Salisbury, MD 21802 or to Hope And Life Outreach (HALO), P.O. Box 2227, Salisbury, MD 21802 or in light of the wonderful and compassionate care given by the nurses and aides from Coastal Hospice, donations may be sent to P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
