BERLIN- James Owens Curtis, Jr. 49, of Berlin, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at his home in Berlin after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 1, 1966 in Salisbury, the son of James Curtis, Sr. and step-mother, Faye of Berlin and Emily Horseman and step-father, Raymond of Linkwood. "Blink", as he was known by family and friends, graduated from Stephen Decatur high school with the class of 1984. For many years he owned and operated Curtis Electric, LLC in Berlin. God bless all James' friends and family with him to the end on this earth. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Robin Lopez and her husband, Octavio of Cambridge; a niece, Marisa Lopez; grandmother, Edna Bowden; uncles, Ralph Bowden, Jr. and wife, Debbie of Snow Hill, Roy Bowden and wife, Faith of Berlin and Albert Bowden and wife, Betty of Willards; and aunts, Virginia Bowden of Berlin and Dorothy Greenwalt of Whaleysville;a grandmother, Edna Bowden of Berlin; and many cousins. He is also survived by his half-sister, Barbara Taylor and husband, Mike of Tennesee and a step-brother, Chris Colflesh of Pennsylvania.
