James R. "Jim" Lynch, 91, of Smyrna, and formerly of Keenwick West in Selbyville, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill in Smyrna. He was born on October 30, 1922 in Suitland, Maryland, a son of the late Burnette and Gladys Lynch. Jim and his wife Emily were married for 61 years, he was a very devoted husband. He had a wonderful personality and never met a stranger. He was always offering the people around him food or drinks, wanting to make them happy was important to him. He enjoyed going to the casino and watching game shows. Jim worked for K.B. Coldiron, Inc. in Selbyville as a facilities manager for 17 years. He also worked for his son's company, Lynch Trucking. He had a talent for building things, and enjoyed residential construction. He is survived by his granddaughter and her husband, Tara and Jeffrey Banks, Jr. of Delmar. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Emily May Lynch; a son, James B. Lynch; and a brother, Malcolm Lynch. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
