James Lewis LaGarde, 71, of Laurel passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Seaford Center in Seaford, Delaware. He was born on June 23, 1952 in Alexandria, Virginia, a son of the late Arthur Eugene LaGarde and Yvette Micheline LaGarde. Jim had a wonderful, outgoing personality. He was very loving and always ready to care for others. He loved nature, and enjoyed gardening and reading. Jim worked for Nasa in Wallops Island as an electrical engineer for many years and he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was very interested in learning about the Civil War and enjoyed participating in re-enactments. He is survived by his wife, Trudy LaGarde; sons, Jason LaGarde and his wife Jessie, Christopher LaGarde and his wife Liz, and Matthew LaGarde and his wife Dr. Kate Laws; grandchildren, Amy LaGarde and Brydon LaGarde; brother, Jerry Allen LaGarde; sister, Gloria LaGarde; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael John LaGarde and Arthur Eugene LaGarde, Jr. At Jim's request no services will be held.
