James N. Burke, "Jim," 65, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at his home. He was born on May 19, 1956, in Salisbury, a son of the late George William Burke and Audrey Burke. James retired from the US Coast Guard after 22 years of service and went on to work for Cato Oil in Salisbury. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed helping others. He loved to cook, cut grass, go fishing, drive his truck on the beach to surf fish with his brothers, and spend time with his family. He is survived by his children, Jessica D. Burke and James Ryan Burke; wife, Maria Del Socorro Ventura; stepchildren, Jose Ruben Ventura, Wilmer Gabriel Ventura, Salvador Jose Ventura, and Ines Ventura; grandchildren, Peyton Brown, Lilliana Ventura, Mateo Ventura; sisters, Donna Adams and Connie Burke, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jamie Adams and brothers, William and David Burke. Services will be held at a later date.
