DELMAR- - John "Jack" O. Ford, 78, of Delmar, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. He was born in Dames Quarter, Maryland a son of the late Oscar and Mildred (McDaniel) Ford. Jack proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a dedicated member of the American Legion, O.T. Beauchamp Post 94 in Princess Anne. He retired in 1984 after 33 years of service as a panel board operator for the A.I. DuPont Company in Seaford. Jack was a skilled carpenter who could build or fix almost anything. He is survived by his wife, Norma Lee (Elliott) Ford; and two brothers, Ray Ford of Dames Quarter and Bill Ford of Fruitland. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Milbert Ford and two brothers who died as infants. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the services in St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to American Legion Post 94, P.O. Box 94, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
