Isabell R. Banks, 74, of Delmar, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2022, at TidalHealth Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford. She was born January 28, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Palmer Reeves and Mattie Patterson. Isabell grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Abingdon High School with the class of 1965. She was a hard-working family woman who worked many jobs until retiring as a home aide from the Cheer Center in Georgetown. She was strong in her faith and was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Salisbury. Family was important to her, and she raised her girls to never be without, even if it meant there was nothing left for her, and taught them to be hardworking, strong women. She also raised several grandchildren and treated them all like her own. She was an excellent cook, loved watching tennis and taking care of her dog and cats. She is survived by three daughters, Lavely Twyman, Gilbertina Twyman and Darcella Wiggins; grandchildren, Tevin J. Wiggins, Lukas Twyman, Theodore Thompson, Emanuel Twyman, Jeremiah Murray, Lorenzo Wiggins, Takoa Robinson and Tony Anderson; several great grandchildren; a brother, Tyrone Patterson; a sister, Carmelita Davis; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend, J.R. LeCates and wife Stacy. She is also survived by her close friends and caregivers, Cheyenne Fleetwood, Joanne Niblett and Melissa Powell; her ChristianaCare aide, Elizabeth Motyka and her ride or die, her dog "Inu," and several cats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo Ralph Banks; and a grandson, Alfonso Terry, IV. Services will be held at a later date.
