Irene F. Wheatley, age 79, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017 at her home in Delmar. She was born on October 10, 1937 in Laurel, Delaware, a daughter of the late John R. and Lula Susan Foskey. Irene attended First Baptist Church in Delmar. She and her husband owned and operated Wheatley's Antiques in Delmar for over twenty years. She loved baking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa G. Hunter (Mike), and Arlene G. Wheatley; sisters, Katherine Barlow and Emma Jean Driscoll (Elwood); granddaughters, Lynda Hunter and Adrianne Bleeker; great granddaughter, Kayla Hovatter: special nieces and nephews, Rhonda Elswick, Terri Coulbourne, Elwood Driscoll and Jimmy Driscoll; and several more nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clark Wheatley; and brothers, Roland, Jimmy, Johnny, Alfred, and Raymond Foskey. A graveside service for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Smith Mills Cemetery in Delmar. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
