Salisbury – Hilbert Troy Morris, 45, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2008, at his home. Born in Maryland, he was the son of the late David Jason Morris, Sr. and Peggy Jean Taylor. Hilbert was a mechanic at Johnson's OK Used Cars in Delmar. Hilbert was a master mind at many trades. He loved the outdoors, including fishing and boating. He was loved by many and will be missed. He adored his grandchildren, Alexis is his pop pop goes the weasel, Jasmin is his chicken wing, his daughter, Elizabeth "Jean" is daddy's little girl, and his wife Wendy is his world. He is survived by his wife of five years, Wendy Morris of Salisbury; a daughter, Elizabeth Jean Morris of Salisbury; a god daughter, Candyce Grace Hevener of Salisbury; four brothers, Franklin Parker of Quantico, MD, Clarence Morris of Princess Anne, Dale Morris of Pittsville, and David Morris, Jr. of Parsonsburg; a sister, Charlotte Hitchens of Parsonsburg; his beloved mother-in-law, Eleanore Duncan of Pittsville; his father-in-law, Earl E. Wilson, Jr., of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Alexis Anne and Jasmine Jean Layfield; and expected grandchild, to be named Hilbert Troy Morris, II; two sisters-in-law of North Carolina; his prized dog "Nia" Morris; his dog "Litta" and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dog "Duke". A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 14, at 1:00 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar, where family and friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00. Interment will follow at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in memory of Hilbert Morris to BB&T, 2400 N. Salisbury Blvd. Salisbury, MD 21801, for the benefit of his grandchildren.
