SALISBURY- Herman J. Mitchell, age 77 of Salisbury, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Fresenius Medical Services in Salisbury. He was born in Salisbury on December 20, 1934, a son of the late Walter H. Mitchell and Flossie C. Mitchell. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Margery Wesley Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Joy Armstrong; and brothers, William B. Mitchell and Allen F. Mitchell. Herman was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he served as usher and worked with many fundraising events for his church. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #654 for more than 40 years. He was also a board member at River House Association. Mr. Mitchell retired in 1998 after many years of service with I.A. Construction. He is also survived by his family, Leona Akins and husband Ancil of Altoona, FL; Karen Williamson and husband Joe of Hebron; Elizabeth Mitchell Jester of Salisbury; Kathy Egger and husband Michael of Hebron ; Keith Bounds and wife Tammy of Salisbury; Dwayne Bounds and wife Linda of Parsonsburg; Tammy Ennis and husband Richard of Salisbury; son-in-law, John Armstrong of Joplin, MO; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30th, at 11:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church in Salisbury, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. The Rev. Tom Hurley will officiate. Interment will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church Music Department, 211 Phillip Morris Drive, Salisbury, MD 21804.
