Helene Gilbert, 80, of Delmar passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 30, 1943, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Raymond Baker and Rose Smith Baker. Helene worked for many years as a police communications operator in the Township of Pennsauken, New Jersey. She enjoyed reading, crafts, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Kenneth R. Gilbert, Loretta Ann Young, Rebecca Lynne Gilbert, and Jacqueline Suzanne Gilbert (George Martin); sister, Lois McAllister; brother, Raymond Baker (Teresa); eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Gilbert; brother, Harvey "Butch" Baker; and a sister, Rose Anna Moore. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar. In memory of Mrs. Gilbert, contributions may be sent to the Delmar Public Library, 101 N.
