Salisbury, MD - Heather Anne Mueller, beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 49. Born on October 5, 1976, in Salisbury, Maryland, she was a daughter of Deborah Anne Hyle and George Howard LaBounty and a stepdaughter to Donna LaBounty.
Heather was a lifelong resident of the area and a proud member of the Wi-Hi School Class of 1994.Heather began her professional journey in medical billing, but her true passion lay in working with children; she dedicated several years to teaching. Most recently, Heather enjoyed her role in merchandising for Red Bull and other beverage companies. Outside of her career, Heather found joy in nature. She cherished her time spent crabbing, boating, and fishing, creating lasting memories on the water. Heather was also known for her artistic flair, often engaging in crafting and immersing herself in jigsaw puzzles of her family, which adorned the walls of her home. A lover of music, she had a special fondness for the New Kids on the Block, attending their concerts whenever she could. However, above all else, Heather's greatest passion was her family, which she deeply adored.
Heather is survived by her loving husband, Mike Mueller; daughter, Shania Bailey and her fiancé Logan Thomas; stepson, Michael Mueller; stepdaughter, Alexis Mueller; step-grandchildren, Ayden, Kole, Karter, and Maddison Mueller; her mother-in-law, Mary Mueller; her step-sister, Annie Carroll-Lawson; and last but not at all least, her grand-dog, Charlee Bailey. In 2010 Heather's life changed forever as she walked the journey of childhood cancer with her 9 year old son, Wayne T. Bailey, II, who passed on November 23, 2010.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, followed by a funeral service which begins at 11:00. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.Heather will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
