Sharptown- Harry Edwin Musser, 78, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 at his home in Sharptown. He was born on October 7, 1930 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Arthur and Margaret Musser. A special part of Harry's childhood was spent participating in the Boy Scouts, where he later went on to be a Ranger Scout. Early in life he worked as a mechanic. When he moved to the Eastern Shore he began a career in the hardware business, eventually retiring from Dover Hardware. Harry was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Sharptown and the Men of the A.R.C. He served as past president of the Marydel Little League and secretary of the Marydel Lions Club. He was a volunteer member of the Marydel Fire Company for ten years, where he also served as secretary. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Ann Musser; three daughters, Candace Dodson and her husband, Jim of Perry Hall, Maryland, Cindy Stairs and her husband Bill of Apple Valley, California, and Cristina Baynard and her husband Jim of Sharptown, Maryland; ten grandchildren, Daniel Weyant, Jr., Stephen Edwin Weyant, Douglas Cary Hardester, Stephanie Lynn Hardester, Karl Besnoska, James Wesley Baynard, Patricia Snyder, Lisa Fisher, Kelly Gottloeb, and Robert Baynard; six great grandchildren and one expected to be born in July; four brothers, Art Musser and his wife Betty, Gene Musser and his wife Carol, Jon Musser, and Jerry Musser and his wife Sue; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Cary Miles Musser, who died in 1973, and a brother, William Musser. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church in Sharptown. The Reverend Jim Penuel will officiate.
