Harry Earl Hoffman, 68, of Eden, died Friday, December 9, 2016 at home in Eden. He was born October 26, 1948 in Berwick, Pennsylvania, a son of the late William and Dorothy (Boone) Hoffman. Harry proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Throughout his lifetime, he remained a true patriot and served as Past VFW Chaplain and in his later years continued to serve his country by volunteering to transport homeless veterans and veterans in need to clinics and various medical appointments. He worked many years as a welder for Lewis Steel in Salisbury. He enjoyed weekend trips to Lancaster with his family and going fishing. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Sprague Hoffman; daughters, Tanya Zerbe of Pennsylvania and Brandy Lynn Medina of Alabama; step-daughters, Lynette Ennis and Michelle Bailey both of Salisbury; grandchildren, Zachary, Dakota, Tyler, Kaitlyn, Ashley and Sara; and great grandchildren, Skylar, Liam and Dominic. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Iona Sprague and several nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Perez. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Shad Point Cemetery in Salisbury. Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
