Grace Evelyn Hammond Moore, age 95, of Salisbury, and formerly of Snow Hill, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Salisbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. She was born in Snow Hill on February 13, 1912, a daughter of the late Charles and Edith Figgs Lewis. Grace was a lifetime member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. She was a graduate of the Snow Hill High Class of 1930. She worked many years at a garment factory in Snow Hill and also many years as a produce farmer with her family. She loved gardening and growing flowers & enjoyed making the floral arrangements for services at Mt. Olive Church. She is survived by nieces, Barbara J. Smith of Snow Hill and Elaine Moore Peterson, Naomi Tarr and Joyce Thomas, all of Salisbury; and a nephew, James Lewis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Marion Hammond, whom she married in 1940, who passed away in 1964, her second husband, George C. Moore, whom she married in 1984, who passed away in 1990, and 5 brothers, Lloyd, Raymond, Reuben, Sheldon and William Lewis. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Snow Hill, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00. The Reverend Mark Avens and Pastor Bill Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to: Mt.
