Gorman E. Parker II died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Lofland Park Center in Seaford, Delaware, where he had lived for the past two years. He was born Feb. 5, 1945, in Salisbury, a son of the late Gorman E. Parker and Naomi Ida Harrington Parker. Gorman was a self-employed contractor and carpenter. He prided himself on quality work. His close friends will remember him as someone you could count on. Throughout his life he enjoyed the memory of his early years on the farm, working with his Grandpop. He loved animals and picking fresh produce and fruit, which he shared with his friends. He was a skilled card player who enjoyed playing gin and poker. He is survived by his son, Gorman E. Parker III of Salisbury, his brother, Robert O. Parker (Susan) of Salisbury, his sister, Rosa Long, of Pittsville, his steadfast friend Tammera Ward of Laurel, his aunt Joyce Harrison of Wilmington, Delaware, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may call at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018. A memorial service will follow, with Pastor Jeff Bryant officiating.
