Glynn Raymond Bridge, 83, of Salisbury passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Glynn was born on March 15, 1940 in Antrim, New Hampshire, a son of the late Mirriam Eunie (Berry) Bridge and Raymond Earl Bridge. Glynn graduated from Wicomico High School with the class of '59 and earned several technical degrees from Wor-Wic Community College and Chesapeake College. From a young age, his work ethic was second to none. In 2020 he sold his business, Glynn R. Bridge, Inc, and reluctantly retired after many years as a land developer. He had a reputation throughout his career for his honesty and integrity and treated everyone as if they were family. Glynn was an accomplished and talented builder who built three homes of his own and tended to every little detail. He had a special gift to envision what he wanted and embraced the challenge to build it. As a hobby, Glynn enjoyed building model ships with his late twin brother, Ron. He also loved the outdoors and had fond memories of his big-game hunting trips to places like Alaska, Newfoundland and Montana. He had a huge place in his heart for animals, especially his favorite dog and sidekick, "Sammy" and his late cats, "Tom Tom" and "Sparky." In his free time Glynn loved watching old Gunsmoke reruns. He was a long time, active member of Melson's Methodist Church. Masonic work had a special place in Glynn's heart and he recently received his 50-year pin from Centennial Lodge #221, Delmar, where he served several terms as Worshipful Master. Other Masonic and community works Glynn accomplished include his time as Grand Inspector and Grand Lecturer Past Worshipful Master for the Grand Lodge of Maryland, Past Worshipful Master of the Past Masters Association, member of the Masonic Veteran's Association, the Salisbury Scottish Rite Bodies from the 4th t0 30th degree, 50 year member of the Baltimore Scottish Rite of the 32nd degree, York Rite Bodies of Salisbury, Past High Priest Royal Arch Chesapeake Chapter #17 and Giblim Chapter #12, Past Eminent Commander Thomas J. Shryock #11 Knights Templar, Past Grand Tall Eastern Sh'o Forest #53 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Past President Eastern Shore Shrine Club of Salisbury, member of Boumi Shrine Baltimore, Knights of the East Council #9 and Past Eminent Commanders Association. Glynn's life's work was his work and his family. He will be remembered fondly as someone who would help anyone that needed it and was always there to support his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gladys J. Bridge, who he married December 20, 1986; daughters, Sharen Bisson (Stephen), Gloria Dosch (Steven), and Glynda Callis; step-daughters, Debra Johnson Webster, Sharon Waters (Chico), and Sandra Horsey (David Wayne); grandchildren, Emma Bisson, Olivia Bisson, Florida Callis, Sallie Dosch, Zachary Dosch, Kelli Webster, Cody Webster, Tracy Waters, Charles Waters, IV, D.W. Horsey, Amanda Horsey Leibforth, William Scott Matthews, Jessica Matthews, April Matthews, and Denny Murray; numerous great grandchildren; brother, David Bridge (Irene); sister, Dorene Rice; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Jeff Davenport who worked with Glynn and offered his never ending support, even as his final days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael S. Bridge; step-daughter, Donna Ann Johnson; his twin brother, Ronald Bridge; and a grandson, Joshua Webster. A visitation for family and friends will be held from Noon to 1pm on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. The funeral service will begin at 1pm. The Reverend John Oltman will officiate. Interment will follow in Melson's Cemetery in Delmar.
