Obituary

SNOW HILL- Gladys B. Wells, 89, of Snow Hill, died on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. She was born on February 25, 1922 in Newark, Maryland, a daughter of the late Hazel Bradford. Gladys was a dedicated employee of the First National Bank of Snow Hill for many years. For most of her life she was a member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. She loved animals and was an avid supporter of the Humane Society. Even in her later years she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Christine Wells of Snow Hill; a brother-in-law, Fred Allen Wells and his wife, Debbie of Snow Hill; nieces and nephews, Ralph Allan Wells and his wife, Billie Dee of Snow Hill, Chris Wells of Snow Hill, Carolyn Mariner of Snow Hill, Kimberly and Mark Kneller of Delaware, Bobby Wells and his wife, Michelle of Florida, and Michael and Laura Wells of Salisbury. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her first husband, Marion Collins; her second husband, Virgil Franklin Wells; and a nephew, Denny Wells. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill, followed by a graveside service at Whatcoat Cemetery to begin at 3:00. The Reverend Sherwood McGrath will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Worcester County, 12330 Eagles Nest Road, Ocean City, Maryland 21842.
