Gladys M. Kuhn, age 80, of Snow Hill, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at her home in Snow Hill, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 20, 1926 in Nashville, NC, a daughter of the late Ellie and Gladys Glover. Gladys was a longtime member of Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Snow Hill, where she sang in the choir for many years and hardly ever missed a UMW Circle Group meeting. She was proud to be a homemaker, and loved raising her family. She was an excellent cook and will be missed by family and friends for her sweet potato biscuits and fried chicken, which were part of her southern heritage. She is survived by her loving husband of over 62 years, William R. Kuhn; 2 daughters, Janice Ann Willis and her husband Eugene of Hatteras, NC and Kathryn Erna Kuhn-Malpass and her husband Barry Douglas of Mardela Springs; 2 sons, William Robert Kuhn, II and his wife Debra of Newark, MD and David Franklin Kuhn of Snow Hill; 7 grandchildren, William Robert Kuhn III, Ryan Christopher Kuhn, Christopher Walters, Adam Campbell, Melba Jean Malpass, Claire Elizabeth Malpass and Kimberly Grace Malpass; 2 brothers, William Glover of Lewisburg, NC and Stan Glover of Kernersville, NC; and 2 sisters, Barbara Ann Tyson of Spring Hope, NC and Patricia Haynes of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 100 West Federal Street, Snow Hill, where family and friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00.
