DELMAR- Geraldine Mae Dickerson Williams, 88, of Delmar, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. She was born in Salisbury on May 21, 1923. She lived in Delmar her entire life. She was the only child of the late William Baines White and Alice Mae Welch White. She was a graduate of Delmar High School. Following graduation she worked as a bookkeeper and retired in 1986 from C&P Hardware after many years of service. She was a long time member of Faith Baptist Church in Delmar and most recently attended the First Baptist Church of Delmar. Other memberships were the American Legion Auxiliary, the Delmar High School Alumni Association and Peninsula Partners. In the past, she was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks and salt and pepper shakers. Geraldine was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Carlos Dickerson, in 1961 and her second husband, Lamont Wailes Williams in 2000; one great grandchild, Joshua Robert Dickerson; and one great grandchild by a blended marriage, Dustin Todd Ellis. She is survived by three sons, twins Ronald J. Dickerson (Eleanor) of Delmar, DE, and Donald W. Dickerson (Sandra) of Raphine, VA; and Robert L. Dickerson (Sandy) of Delmar, DE; and two stepdaughters, Isabelle Stottlemyer (Stan) of Clear Spring, MD, and Teresa Hammerbacher of Salisbury. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Gene Dickerson of Salisbury, Scott Dickerson of Delmar, DE, Robert Dickerson of Baltimore, Marla Dickerson of Laurel, and Ellen Schwinn of Pittsville; 10 great grandchildren; two grandsons, Ricky and Todd Hawkins; and three great grandchildren from a blended marriage. Surviving step grandchildren are Corey and Brian Stottlemyer and Karl and Zack Hammerbacher, and three step great grandchildren. Geraldine was a resident at Delmar Manor Assisted Living for the past year. Her family would like to thank all of the staff for the loving and compassionate care that she received. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 12th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Short Funeral Home in Delmar where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Pastor Lee Hughart from First Baptist Church and Pastor John Merritt of Light House Baptist Church of Cambridge will officiate the service. Burial will immediately follow the service in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Delmar. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Delmar, P.O.
