George Edward Gray, Sr., 77, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. He was born on September 19, 1939 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Lyle and Lenora Gray. After high school graduation and military service, Ed worked in the electrical field. He came to the Eastern Shore in the 1950's. After years in the trade, Ed took a job with Pote Electric and after years of outstanding service he became the owner and operator. Ed also owned an archery shop and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He supported many local organizations, including the Delmar Little League, Delmar VFW Post 8276, and the Delmar Fire Department. He is survived by a son, Eddie Gray, Jr.; three brothers, Gene, Walter and Bill Gray; a sister, Rosemary Hienzmann; and special companions, Regina Keen and Virginia Twigg. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar.
