George W. "Buddy" Marvel, Jr.,73, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. He was born on May 6, 1933 in Chester, Pennsylvania, a son of the late George W. Marvel, Sr. and Effie Mary Smith Marvel. Mr. Marvel was formerly of Little Creek, Delaware. He was an Army Veteran and he attended Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. He worked as a truck driver for Masten Transportation in Milford. He also worked for the Rehoboth Beach Police Department, Golden Pride and had various other jobs. George is survived by his loving wife of 48 years; Della Faye Marvel of Snow Hill, a son; Audie L. Marvel and his wife Lisa of Snow Hill, daughter; Penny Thomason of Dover, six grandchildren; Crystal Taylor and her husband John, Tina Marvel, George Edward "Eddie" Thomas Marvel, Suzanne Durham, Kathy Moyer and Jonathan McClements, several great grandchildren, as well as, one great grandchild on the way, mother-in-law; Ennis Adkins of Snow Hill, 2 sisters; Anna Mae Sherman of Little Creek, DE and Margaret Marker of Dover, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; John Wesley Marvel and Frederick C. Marvel, Sr., and a sister; Dorothy Grow. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Bates Memorial United Methodist Church in Snow Hill. Family and friends may call at the church from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
