George Edward Albrecht Jr., a beloved son, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at the age of 78. He was born on February 24, 1948, in Glen Burnie, Maryland, a son of the late George Edward Albrecht, Sr. and Charlotte Munnerlyn Bailey. He spent his later years in Millsboro, Delaware. 

George dedicated many years of his life to the auto manufacturing industry, most notably as the plant manager for Subaru Motors in Baltimore, where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and employees alike. He also contributed his expertise to Spring River Corporation, a manufacturer of kayaks and canoes, before his retirement.A passionate individual, George had a profound love for the outdoors. He found joy in metal detecting, often exploring historic battlefields in search of remnants of the past. Photography was also a passion of George's. Additionally, he was an avid fisherman, with a particular fondness for fly fishing, where he showcased his creativity and skill by tying his own flies.George was a fan of classic rock music, relishing the sounds of groups like The Eagles, AC/DC, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. He also had a gentle affection for cats, often finding comfort in their companionship.

He is survived by his loving sons, James and Jason Albrecht; his brother, Erik Albrecht; and his nephews, Darryl Gassaway and wife, Alana, and Daniel Gassaway, Jr. and wife, Crystal; and several great nieces and nephews. George's warmth and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Lemon.

The family will celebrate George privately in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local environmental charity, reflecting George's love for the great outdoors.Rest in peace, George. Your legacy and spirit will live on in the hearts of those you touched.
