George Russell Adrion, 70, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at PRMC in Salisbury. He was born on May 19, 1948 in Salisbury, a son of the late Gordon Murray Adrion and Ruth Edna (Kelley) Adrion. In his early years, George enjoyed life as a waterman with his father and brothers. He loved the outdoors especially fishing. He owned and operated Coastal Truck Inspections in Quantico and Quantico Small Engine Repair. Throughout his career, he also worked for Bennett Construction, Meadows Hydraulics, Robert L. Messick and Frances Whittington Trucking. He was an expert mechanic and truck driver. He loved his dog, "Daisey" very much and often spoiled her with treats and taking her for rides down to the city park. He is survived by two daughters, Holly Giza (John) and Amy Adrion, all of Salisbury; grandchildren, Jerry Rennie and Thomas Rennie; great-granddaughter, Kara Taylor; brothers, James Adrion (Edna) of Tyaskin, and Oliver Adrion of Salisbury; a sister, Julia "Judy" Dashiell of Salisbury; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Melissa Mancia, a great nephew and niece, Adrian and Kaitlyn, all of Round Rock, TX; the mother of his youngest daughter, Jean Bennett and his beloved dogs, Daisey and Cabela. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Holland Adrion. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street in Delmar. A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow in Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
