Gene Allen Carey, age 57, of Hebron, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007, at Deer's Head Hospital Center in Salisbury. He was born December 8, 1949, in Salisbury, Maryland, a son of the late Lester D. Carey, Sr. and Annie Webb. Mr. Carey was a self-employed roofer. He was an avid hunter and especially fond of deer hunting and fishing. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Gertrude Kenney of Hebron, Harry Carey of Hebron, Vaughn Carey of Berlin, Lester Carey of Mardela Springs, Donald Carey of Berlin, and Linda Collins of Hebron. Mr. Carey is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carey was also preceded in death by his wife Holly Carey. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E. Grove Street, Delmar.
