HEBRON-Gary Dean Sholley, 56, of Hebron, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at his home in Hebron. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Donald C. and Grace H. Frantz Sholley. After high school Gary enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He loved his country and was proud of his military service in the Corps. Through the years Gary worked in construction for various companies in Alaska and Seattle, Washington. He was a talented drywaller and handyman who could do almost anything with his hands. He also worked for a number of years as a machinist. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, loved music and his Harley Davidson motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Hartsuff Sholley; a daughter, Stephanie Sholley of Sildatna, Alaska; stepsons, Corey Short and his wife, Misty and Michael Butler; grandchildren, Katie, Cole and Will; five brothers, Wayne Moreland and his wife, Denise of Ocean City, Maryland, Glenn Sholley and his wife Marlene of Lincoln, Delaware, Dennis Sholley and his wife, Marguarite of Castro Valley, California, Donald Sholley of Spannaway, Washington and Kenneth Sholley of Mechanicsville, Pennsylvania; sisters, Pattie Bashore and her husband, Nathan of Robesonia, Pennsylvania and Sydnee Ashby of Pocatello, Idaho; his mother-in-law, Martha DeLong of Hebron; and a sister-in-law, Pat Hartsuff. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Howard Hartsuff. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, 13 E Grove Street, Delmar, Delaware, where friends and family may call from 10:30 to 11:30. The Reverend Ernest Bailey will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland.
