Galena C. Williams, 77, of Laurel, passed peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 25, 2010, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Unicoi, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Ruth E. Smith McInturff. Before moving to the Eastern Shore, Mrs. Williams worked many years for the Acacia Insurance Co. in Washington, DC. After moving her family to the area she used her talents by working as a seamstress in a shirt factory in Salisbury and as a waitress at various restaurants in Salisbury. She moved to Englewood, Florida in 1997, where she has lived until coming home to spend her last days with her family. She is fondly remembered as a hard working mother, putting everyone else's needs before her own. She never met a stranger and unselfishly gave to anyone who needed help. Mom's door was always open for everyone. She is survived by four children, Angelo Triglia, III and his wife, Lorraine, of Eden, Debra Triglia Singh of Laurel, Maria R. Triglia of Englewood, Florida and Larry Williams and his wife Lydia of North Port, Florida; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Kenney, Angelo Triglia IV, Colby Williams, Lacey Williams, Brittney M. Triglia, Evan Williams, Tyler Triglia and Avery Williams; a great granddaughter, Katelynn J. Kenney; and brothers and sisters, Wanda Fowler, David J. McInturff, Lucy N. McInturff, Carl Wayne McInturff and Robert C. McInturff. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard F. McInturff and Donald P. McInturff. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, and also Tuesday, March 2 from 1:00 to 2:00, followed by a funeral service to be held at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Rob Dicken will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Delaware Hospice, 20167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
